Cutting, poisoning, bruising, burning, fainting ,drowning or suffocation are part of everyday life.
When a person is injured or suddenly becomes ill, time before medical help is very important. This is the time when the victim should be given full attention.
In this medical language, it’s called first aid. It is very important for everyone to have first aid information as there are sudden accidents in life. No one knows when it will happen. Therefore, you should keep an accessible first aid box in your office, factory, home and school. We are providing information about the primary remedies for such incidents in everyday life so that over time the sufferer can be protected from major problems and even death risk.
As a staff nurse it’s our most important responsibility is, to save people’s lives.
So, first we will discussing about first aid treatment of honey bee sting:
Most of the time you do not have to go to the doctor for the treatment of bee stings. It can be relieved only by applying the some home remedies.
However, if you have problems with allergic symptoms like:
itching to whole body,
redness over biting side and even red patches on other area of your body,
nausea or vomiting,
loss of consciousness,
abnormal heart beat etc….
Also, if bee sting on neck, chest, or head then required immediate medical care, because if bee bite on neck then, swelling occur over neck due to our immune system reaction against foreign body so, it’s lead to severe breathing problems,and some times it’s lead to life threatening condition of person.
So, if any person who feel above symptoms then, you will give advice that, immediate they are go to the hospital.
Because in some cases anaphylaxis reaction occur after biting the honey bee sting.
Honey bee sting first aid care at home:
1.First remove the sting:
Remove the bee stings as soon as possible. The sooner the sting gets out, the less the poison’s effect. Otherwise, the risk of spreading poison will increase in the body.
After removing the sting, clean the area with an antiseptic Soap or solution. Then wipe the affected area and apply an antiseptic cream.
2. Apply cold compress :
Applying snow to the affected area will relieve the symptoms. Colds do not spread toxins too much. Apart from this it also helps in reducing the pain.
3. Baking soda :
Baking soda is an alkaline. Which helps reduce the effect of poison. Applying baking soda will relieve pain, itching and swelling.
4. Vinegar :
The use of vinegar also reduces the effect of poison and relieves pain, swelling and itching.
5. Use of honey:
Honey is also very beneficial when you cut the bees. It does not allow the poison to spread and its anti-bacterial properties do not allow the infection to escalate.
Applying white toothpaste also relieves sting pain. It reduces the acidic effect of poison.
7.apply calamine lotion :
Calamine lotion is a type of antihistamine cream so, calamine lotion is beneficial to reduce swelling and relieve itching and pain.
Honey bee sting first aid care at hospital :
1.first to remove the sting, then
2.wash the area with antiseptic solusion.and call the doctor.
3.given injection avil (chlorphaniramine malate) and dexona (dexamethasone sodium) . Also injection hydrocortisone and adrenaline if doctor’s prescribed.
4.check and note the vital sign : pulse,spo2, blood pressure, etc…
It is very important to identify anaphylactic shock syndrome.
5.examine the patient for allergic reaction, such as :
Red patches all over the body,
Nausea and vomiting,
5.if any of above symptoms seen then, reporting to doctor.
6.give I/v infusion like, DNS or dextrose 25% if doctor will suggest.
7.watch the patient for 30 min. Or when symptoms are relieve. Then, advice the patient if any danger sign seen ,then immediately concern to the doctor .
